The Story

Established in 1991, Silvis Group operates in the Greensburg and Westmoreland County areas as a premier service provider in landscape services. President Jacob H. Silvis IV (Jake) began at a young age to show great interest in making his local area beautiful. Educated in Landscape Contracting and Horticulture from Penn State University, Jake Silvis founded a company that specializes in Client Satisfaction.

From humble beginnings, Silvis Group now employs 30 professionals at peak season. Each dedicated staff member is committed to delivering quality landscape services to our local area.

	Jake - Founder and President From a very young age, Silvis Group Founder and President Jake Silvis has been interested and involved with landscaping and the Green Industry. With studies in Landscape Contracting and a Minor in Horticulture from Penn State University, Jake leads the Silvis Group with diligence, integrity and commitment. Husband to Jenifer and father to Lily, Jake is active in both his local and professional communities.
	Barry Helfferich - Business Development Manager Starting with Silvis Group in March 2009, Barry brings over 25 years of successful outside sales experience to the company.  With a focus on customer service, detail and follow-through, his extensive knowledge and dedication to his profession will be of great benefit to Silvis Group.  Having a BA degree from West Virginia University in Art Education, Barry will also be able to use his eye for design and color coordination when working with our clients on their landscaping needs and desires.  His passions include his family, two dogs and traveling throughout Europe and the United States.
	Robyn Henry - Customer Service Specialist From her very first day with Silvis Group in 2002, Robyn has cared for our Clients and their Landscapes. Robyn and her husband Dave have 2 sons; David and Daniel. She enjoys being with her family, scrap booking and camping.
	Christa McKnight - Bookkeeper and Human Resource Coordinator Coming to Silvis Group in March of 2007, Christa brought with her exceptional experience and attention to detail. Married to Barry with 3 children (Lisa, David and Kacee), Christa enjoys Tae Kwon Do, sewing, knitting and hiking.
	Elizabeth Pesci - Landscape Designer and Sales Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturist and Master Gardener Elizabeth began working as a pharmaceutical chemist, but gradually turned to her real love: horticulture. Silvis Group and our Clients have greatly benefited from this change in professions! Prior to joining Silvis Group in 2002 Elizabeth managed a large garden center. With Silvis Group, she brings all of her professional skills to work for our clients in landscape design, sales, estimating and plant procurement. Elizabeth has volunteered in the PA State Master Gardener Program, the Hempfield School District, Hempfield Recreation and Parks for Kids and other community programs.
	Jenifer Silvis - Business Manager Responsible for Business Management and Marketing for Silvis Group, Jenifer began her work with Silvis Group in 2000, and has done a variety of work for the growing business. With B.A. Communication and Information Arts from Seton Hill University, Jenifer is the proud wife of Jake, and extremely proud mother of daughter Lily. Her outside interests include gardening, travel, cooking, and spending time with her 2 Labradors, friends and family.
	Jeff Zilli - Landscape Team Leader A member of the Silvis Group since 1999, many Client’s know Jeff for his pursuit of perfection. Jeff is the proud father of son Austin and daughter Alayna.
	Alberto Morales - Lawncare Technician Alberto is known for his strong work ethic and his hard work. He has been a valuable part of Silvis Group since 2004.
	Jose Luis Escutia Arellano - Commercial Maintenance Specialist A value team member with Silvis Group since 2003, Jose is married and is the proud father of four children.
	Benito Juarez Lara - Equipment Operator Benito has been with Silvis Group since 2003, and performs a variety of duties with skill and perfection. He is married with two children.
	Dave Shipley- Fleet and Equipment Manager Married to Kathy and father of one daughter, Ashley.In his spare time, Dave enjoys tractor pulling, hunting, fishing, and building small engines.
